Job Purpose

The position also supports affirmative actions for equitable access to decision-making and markets, and incorporates cross-cutting approaches like gender and protection into all project phases.
Responsibilities
The role involves providing specialized technical guidance for the design, implementation, and monitoring of projects focused on livelihoods, resilience, climate change adaptation, and peacebuilding, ensuring alignment with WFP priorities and national cooperation frameworks. Key responsibilities include coordinating the planning, execution, and oversight of livelihood projects in the Riohacha Area Office, leading the livelihood team to ensure efficient and quality implementation, and meeting established goals and commitments. The position requires monitoring project budgets, ensuring proper resource utilization, and generating early warnings for potential delays. It also entails supervising the management of beneficiary data, transferred resources, and indicator reporting on the COMET platform, ensuring data accuracy and traceability. The role includes preparing technical and narrative reports for WFP and donors, contributing to internal reports, lessons learned, and best practices. Additionally, the position is responsible for managing feedback from communities, designing participatory methodologies for capacity building, and supporting affirmative actions to promote equitable access for men and women to decision-making spaces and food markets. It also involves strengthening the capacities of WFP staff, cooperating partners, and government entities, coordinating field visits, and integrating cross-cutting approaches such as gender, protection, and cultural relevance throughout the project lifecycle. Support for other program-related tasks as required by supervision is also expected.
Work Experience
Requires a minimum of 6 years of professional experience in implementing and monitoring development projects. This includes at least 2 years of experience specifically in strengthening agricultural livelihoods for smallholder farmers, indigenous communities, Afro-Colombian populations, ex-combatants, and/or victim populations.
