Job Purpose
The Monitoring Assistant (Food Safety and Quality) will play a crucial role in supporting WFP's hot meals project in Lebanon. This position involves conducting essential monitoring activities within a designated area to ensure the effective delivery of assistance packages, with a specific focus on food safety and quality assurance. The incumbent will contribute to the planning, implementation, and enhancement of food safety and quality procedures, ensuring strict adherence to WFP guidelines and regulations. Responsibilities
The Monitoring Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting program reviews and enhancing service delivery within the World Food Programme (WFP). A primary responsibility involves liaising with cooperating partners and internal teams to gather feedback, which is then collated to identify programmatic issues and foster operational efficiency. The assistant provides guidance to partners on WFP operational practices and monitoring tools, empowering them to conduct self-monitoring tasks and increasing WFP's visibility in operational areas. Field mission reports are prepared to document program implementation, and emergency response procedures for food assistance are strictly followed. A key duty is verifying the planned movements and distribution of food and non-food items, reporting any discrepancies to the supervisor for prompt resolution and ensuring adherence to WFP standards for quantity and quality. The role also includes maintaining information records and monitoring documentation, such as commodity movement records and program checklists, to aid in the effective delivery and distribution of essential items. Data from assistance programs is collated to support informed decision-making and program reviews.
Work Experience
Requires at least 4 years of relevant professional experience in food safety and quality control, or nutrition. This experience should be within a food production, manufacturing, or institutional setting.
