Responsibilities
The Field Monitoring Assistant, based in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo, plays a crucial role in supporting the World Food Programme's (WFP) operations. Reporting to the Head of Sub-Office, this position involves ensuring the quality and compliance of WFP interventions through regular field monitoring. Key responsibilities include overseeing the implementation of activities according to WFP standards, verifying food, non-food, and cash-based transfer distributions, and identifying any discrepancies for prompt corrective action. The assistant will conduct regular field missions to assess implementation quality, identify best practices, operational constraints, and risks, reporting findings and recommendations to improve interventions. Data management is also central, requiring the collection, verification, consolidation, and analysis of activity data to support performance monitoring and decision-making. This includes maintaining databases and contributing to WFP's information systems. Furthermore, the role involves ensuring accountability to affected populations by monitoring feedback mechanisms and handling complaints, adhering to protection principles and preventing sexual exploitation and abuse. Work Experience
Requires at least three years of relevant professional experience in humanitarian or development program monitoring and evaluation, data collection and analysis, information management, or project implementation. Experience in monitoring food security, nutrition, resilience, cash-based transfers, refugee assistance, or emergency interventions is advantageous. Collaboration with governmental institutions, NGOs, or implementing partners is desirable.
