Job Purpose
The Senior Programme Associate (SBC) will provide crucial coordination and implementation support for WFP's social and behaviour change (SBC) initiatives in Cambodia, aimed at improving dietary practices and nutrition outcomes among vulnerable populations. This role is instrumental in strengthening partnerships with government and stakeholders, facilitating capacity building, and overseeing the development and execution of SBC strategies and marketing approaches for fortified rice. The incumbent will ensure timely, effective, and high-quality delivery of SBC interventions, contributing to the scale-up and sustainability of programmes that enhance food security and nutrition, ultimately supporting WFP's mission to achieve Zero Hunger.
Responsibilities
The Senior Programme Associate (SBC) role at the World Food Programme (WFP) involves coordinating and supporting the implementation of social and behaviour change (SBC) initiatives aimed at improving dietary practices and nutrition outcomes among vulnerable populations. This includes strengthening partnerships with government and other stakeholders, facilitating capacity-building efforts, and supporting research and evidence generation. The associate will oversee external partners and service providers responsible for developing SBC and marketing products and campaigns, ensuring timely, effective, and high-quality implementation of interventions. Key responsibilities include supporting SBC programme implementation through planning, coordination with partners, tracking progress, and contributing to reports. They will also support the development of SBC and marketing strategies for fortified rice commercialization by facilitating consultations, synthesizing research, and identifying behavioural barriers. Additionally, the role involves supporting the development and adaptation of communication materials, coordinating campaign launches and outreach events, and managing the dissemination of SBC materials. Monitoring, learning, and reporting on campaign reach and consumer response, as well as documenting lessons learned, are crucial. The associate must also ensure that cross-cutting considerations such as gender, protection, disability inclusion, and nutrition are integrated into programme implementation and adhere to WFP's code of conduct.
Work Experience
Requires at least 7 years of relevant experience in social and behaviour change, communication for development, nutrition, public health, social marketing, or related programme implementation. Demonstrated experience in engaging communities, workers, private sector actors, local authorities, or implementing partners is also necessary.
