Job Purpose
The Assistant Storekeeper (Vehicle Spare Parts) will be responsible for maintaining adequate stock levels of spare parts, lubricants, and other supplies essential for the maintenance of all light and armored vehicles, as well as fixed and mobile motorized equipment. This role involves requesting, receiving, storing, distributing, and inventorying these critical items, ensuring the smooth operation of the vehicle fleet. The incumbent will manage the store, oversee the quality control of received goods, ensure proper authorization for parts issuance, and maintain accurate inventory records within the fleet management system. Additionally, the Assistant Storekeeper will prepare local and international orders, track shipments, and submit regular reports on consumption, receipts, and stock levels to the Fleet and Garage Manager, contributing to efficient supply chain management in Gonaïves, Haiti.
Responsibilities
The Assistant Storekeeper (Vehicle Spare Parts) role is crucial for maintaining the operational readiness of the World Food Programme's vehicle fleet in Gonaïves, Haiti. This position is responsible for ensuring adequate stock levels of spare parts, lubricants, and other essential supplies required for the maintenance of light and armored vehicles, as well as fixed and mobile motorized equipment. Key duties include accurately receiving, storing, distributing, and inventorying all incoming parts and materials, meticulously checking for quantity and quality discrepancies. The Assistant Storekeeper must verify that all requested parts are authorized and compatible with specific vehicle makes and models, and manage the proper recording of returned stock. They will also prepare and ensure the secure packaging and sealing of parts for transfer to other depots, and oversee their safe transportation. Maintaining up-to-date parts catalogs and price lists is essential. Furthermore, the role involves implementing effective inventory management to prevent stockouts, conducting regular physical inventories, and ensuring all stock is stored in a safe, clean, and organized manner. The Assistant Storekeeper will also manage local and international procurement processes, track shipments, and handle customs clearance. Regular reporting on consumption, receipts, and stock levels is required, along with maintaining an organized and properly labeled store according to WFP's barcode policy. This role demands adherence to all WFP stock management guidelines and procedures, ensuring accurate data updates in the Fleet Management System (FMS).
Work Experience
Requires at least 3 years of professional experience in vehicle spare parts management.
