Job Purpose

The Supply Chain Officer - Country Capacity Strengthening will support WFP's efforts to enhance national and regional emergency preparedness and response systems in the Pacific. This role involves assisting in the implementation of supply chain plans and procedures, collecting and analyzing operational data, and contributing to assessments of end-to-end supply chain activities. The officer will prepare analyses and reports to identify optimization opportunities, monitor budgets, and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners, including government entities and humanitarian actors. A key focus will be on supporting logistics capacity strengthening initiatives, including humanitarian warehousing and emergency preparedness, through training, mentoring, and the development of educational materials, while ensuring the integration of cross-cutting priorities like gender equality and environmental sustainability.

The officer will also monitor budgets, maintain relationships with internal and external partners, contribute to market assessments, and support preparedness and emergency response operations. Key responsibilities include engaging with national stakeholders to identify capacity strengthening opportunities, implementing logistics initiatives like humanitarian warehousing, and promoting inclusive and sustainable practices in humanitarian logistics. This involves developing training materials and ensuring the integration of cross-cutting priorities such as gender equality and environmental sustainability into capacity-building activities.

Work Experience

Requires at least one year of postgraduate professional experience in project management, humanitarian development, or emergency response. Experience in logistics or emergency management is preferred.
