Job Purpose
The UN System Mobility & Carpooling Consultant will play a crucial role in scaling up the UN System Mobility and Carpooling framework. This involves strengthening legal, financial, operational, and contractual aspects as the service transitions into full-scale expansion. The consultant will support inter-agency collaboration, optimize business processes, and drive digital transformation in mobility services across UN entities. Key responsibilities include enhancing capacity building for WFP Country Offices, engaging with OMTs to implement carpooling services, monitoring performance, and reporting on efficiency gains, including environmental benefits. This role is essential for improving the effectiveness and sustainability of UN system-wide transportation and mobility solutions.
Responsibilities
The UN System Mobility & Carpooling Consultant will play a crucial role in expanding the UN System Mobility and Carpooling framework. This involves strengthening legal, financial, operational, and contractual aspects, while also enhancing the capacity to manage operations through engagement with OMTs and UN partners. The consultant will support partnerships to align business processes, contractual frameworks, and digital transformation initiatives for mobility and carpooling services. They will foster collaboration across UN agencies, WFP country offices, and other stakeholders, leveraging knowledge of fleet operations. A key responsibility is optimizing business processes and digital transformation within these services. The role also includes building the capacity of WFP Country Offices to implement UN System Mobility, driving digital transformation through passenger mobility and carpooling. This involves engaging OMTs by presenting the service, establishing localized cost recovery, supporting service agreements, and launching the carpooling service. Monitoring performance, scaling best practices, and creating reports on efficiency gains, including environmental benefits and service optimization, are also vital duties.
Work Experience
Requires at least 3 years of experience in complex, multilateral projects. Must have proven knowledge of mobility, fleet, and/or shared services. Experience supporting business process and digital service transformation, as well as familiarity with UN systems and inter-agency coordination, is also needed.
