Job Purpose

Responsibilities
The World Food Programme (WFP) is seeking a Supply Chain Expert to support Egypt's transition from biscuit-based school meals to a national hot meal program. This role involves providing specialist advice and analytics to design an effective and integrated supply chain approach. The expert will collaborate with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education (MoETE) to map school, community, and market capacities, and conduct a feasibility analysis for the transition. Responsibilities include providing technical guidance on data collection for national mapping, analyzing local market functionality, and developing on-site, central kitchen, and hybrid delivery models. The expert will also lead the development of procurement and supply chain strategy options, provide inputs for costing and financial models, and draft supply chain sections for the National Operational Manual. Additionally, they will assess technical capacity, develop a training program for national stakeholders, and support supply chain readiness for the program's phased start-up. Work Experience
Requires 8-10 years of professional experience in supply chain, logistics, procurement, or operations design. This includes at least 5 years in senior technical or advisory roles. Proven experience is needed in designing, implementing, or improving end-to-end supply chain and service delivery systems, covering areas like procurement, food service operations, facility design, logistics, contract management, costing, and operational planning.
