Job Purpose
The Business Transformation Officer (BTO) will partner with colleagues and stakeholders to understand their needs and operating environment, translating these into effective IT solutions. This role involves capturing, analyzing, and documenting business requirements, communicating them clearly to stakeholders, and managing their implementation. The BTO will test IT solutions against requirements, establish partnerships to identify transformation opportunities, and manage the IT service catalog. They will also oversee estimates, business cases, planning, risk management, and change management for digital transformation initiatives. The position promotes business analysis, process improvement, and project management practices to enhance operational effectiveness and user experience, ensuring IT strategies align with organizational objectives and support WFP's mission in Rwanda.
Responsibilities
The Business Transformation Officer (BTO) is responsible for capturing, analyzing, and documenting business requirements for IT solutions and services, ensuring alignment with WFP policies and strategies. This involves communicating these requirements to stakeholders for a shared understanding and effective implementation. The BTO also tracks requirements through implementation, manages change efficiently, and tests IT solutions against business needs for quality assurance. A key aspect of the role is building and maintaining partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to identify needs, transformation opportunities, and digital solutions that enhance operational effectiveness. The BTO manages the IT service catalog, ensuring effective knowledge management, and aligns IT service levels with SLAs, while also surveying business satisfaction. Furthermore, they manage estimates, business cases, planning, risk identification, and change management to ensure successful delivery and adoption of initiatives. The role promotes business analysis, process improvement, and project management practices for continuous improvement and organizational effectiveness, actively supporting digital transformation and innovation. They provide advice, resolve issues, guide junior staff, contribute to capability building through training programs, and coordinate with other UN agencies for inter-agency collaboration. The BTO also ensures emergency response IT preparedness and business continuity plans are up-to-date.
Work Experience
The role requires experience in analyzing technical issues and formulating recommendations, participating in business process/application analysis and re-design, conducting cost-benefit analyses, supporting digital transformation and organizational change, and managing cross-functional projects with diverse stakeholders to deliver business solutions.
