Job Purpose
The Individual Giving Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the data platforms, cloud infrastructure, and integrations that support WFP's global individual giving programme. This role is pivotal in evolving WFP's fundraising data capabilities by developing robust pipelines, integrations, and cloud-native services. The Data Engineer will ensure data quality, pipeline reliability, and operational scalability, while reducing dependency on external suppliers by developing in-house capabilities. Key responsibilities include owning the end-to-end implementation of the data warehouse, building scalable ELT pipelines, leading new data integrations, and implementing comprehensive data observability and integrity checks. The role will also support reporting and dashboard development, collaborate with Business Intelligence teams, and translate stakeholder requirements into technical solutions.
Responsibilities
The World Food Programme (WFP) is seeking a Data Engineer for its global individual giving program. This role is crucial for designing, building, and maintaining the data platforms, cloud infrastructure, and integrations that support fundraising efforts. The Data Engineer will be responsible for developing robust data pipelines, cloud-native services, and evolving the data warehouse to enhance WFP's fundraising data capabilities. Key accountabilities include owning the end-to-end implementation of the data warehouse, including data modeling and schema design. They will build and maintain scalable ELT pipelines to consolidate data from various fundraising platforms, CRMs, payment processors, and marketing channels. The role also involves leading the implementation of new data integrations with external partners and vendors, ensuring reliable data movement. A significant focus will be on data observability, quality, and integrity, implementing checks and root-cause resolution for data issues to ensure accuracy and prevent recurrence. The Data Engineer will also support reporting and dashboard development by providing reliable datasets and collaborating with Business Intelligence teams. They will contribute to QA processes, ensuring data accuracy and completeness across the fundraising ecosystem, and act as a primary technical contact for data engineering needs within the Individual Giving team. This position requires translating non-technical requirements into technical specifications and delivering solutions iteratively.
