Job Purpose

The associate will provide technical support, lead design and implementation of fortification activities, and coordinate with government ministries and private sector partners. Key responsibilities include managing partnerships, supporting the National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme, assisting in the development of national fortification strategies and standards, and contributing to resource mobilization. The position aims to enhance nutrition outcomes by increasing the supply and demand for fortified foods, ultimately addressing micronutrient deficiencies in Cambodia.
Responsibilities
The Senior Programme Associate (Food Fortification) role involves managing and coordinating semi-commercialization projects focused on fortified foods, particularly rice, within factory settings. This includes fostering partnerships with factories, supporting workplace meal programs, and assisting in the branding and marketing of fortified rice. The position also entails providing technical support for the design, implementation, and monitoring of food fortification activities, ensuring alignment with national strategies and WFP guidelines. A key responsibility is planning and managing training sessions for rice millers and suppliers, covering logistics and material preparation. The role supports the integration of fortified rice into the National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme, involving pilot activities, monitoring, and reporting. Additionally, the associate will assist in implementing the National Food Fortification Strategy and developing national standards for fortified rice. This includes creating advocacy and communication materials, contributing to resource mobilization through proposal development, and coordinating learning events and exchange visits. The role requires preparing reports, conducting data analysis, and managing partnership agreements and administrative tasks related to food fortification and nutrition activities, including budget monitoring.
Work Experience
Requires a minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience. Experience should include implementing technical programs in areas such as food fortification, nutrition, food safety, social and behavior change, agricultural market support, or value chain development. The role also requires experience in engaging with various stakeholders, facilitating adult learning, and utilizing standard computer software. Demonstrated experience in programs with increased responsibility and input into policy discussions is also necessary.
