Job Purpose
The Programme Assistant (Social Protection) will provide essential administrative and operational support to the WFP Social Protection team and the Ministry of Social Solidarity and Inclusion (MSSI) in Timor-Leste. This role is crucial for the effective implementation of social protection activities, including the Bolsa de Mae Kondisional SANUTRIO program and the INSPIRE project. The assistant will support daily project operations, coordination, documentation, and logistics, ensuring smooth execution of activities related to targeting, registration, grievance redress, and capacity strengthening. Key responsibilities include assisting with activity planning, preparing project tools, facilitating communication between stakeholders, organizing events, and supporting progress reporting and monitoring. The position also involves basic translation and interpretation between English and Tetum, contributing to enhanced project delivery and strengthening national social protection systems.
Responsibilities
The Programme Assistant (Social Protection) role involves providing crucial administrative and operational support for social protection activities in Timor-Leste, aligning with WFP's mission to end hunger and support national development. Key responsibilities include assisting with the implementation of programs like Bolsa de Mae Kondisional SANUTRIO, the national poverty framework, and the social registry. The role requires supporting activity planning, scheduling, and routine tracking, as well as preparing and updating operational manuals and project tools. Effective coordination and information sharing between the Ministry of Social Solidarity and Inclusion (MSSI), WFP, and development partners are essential, involving organizing meetings and facilitating communication. The assistant will also support the logistics and organization of project events, workshops, and municipal coordination meetings, including material preparation and note-taking. Reporting duties involve drafting inputs for progress reports, compiling data, and preparing meeting summaries. The role also includes tracking project activities, supporting monitoring and reporting through data collection and basic analysis, and documenting lessons learned. Furthermore, the assistant will aid in capacity-building activities and provide translation/interpretation support between English and Tetum. This position is vital for the successful implementation of the Integrated Nutrition and Adaptive Social Protection for Increased Resilience (INSPIRE) project, contributing to enhanced food security, nutrition, and resilience to shocks.
Work Experience
Requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience. This includes experience with government institutions, international organizations, or development partners in project management, coordination, or capacity building. Experience in planning, implementing, and monitoring multi-stakeholder projects is also essential.
