Job Purpose

Responsibilities
The Warehouse Management Officer role involves contributing to the development and implementation of logistics plans and processes, ensuring strict adherence to WFP's logistics policies and operational standards, particularly in warehouse management, food handling, and transportation. Key responsibilities include supporting daily logistics operations such as warehousing, repacking, and dispatching food supplies to ensure efficient, safe, and compliant delivery. The officer must enforce best practices in food management and handling within warehouses, improving loading and unloading procedures to minimize losses and damage, and promptly reporting incidents for corrective action. This role requires collecting, analyzing, and interpreting logistics data to provide operational recommendations for improving local operations' performance and reliability. Additionally, the officer will plan and align transport capacity with distribution plans, monitor daily dispatch pipelines and fleet utilization, and prepare accurate, timely logistics reports including performance indicators. The position also involves mentoring and supporting logistics support staff, contributing to capacity building for WFP staff and partners, maintaining effective working relationships, and supporting emergency preparedness and response activities. Management of fuel according to WFP SOPs and procedures is also a key duty.
Work Experience
Requires at least one year of post-graduate professional experience in complex logistics management. This includes developing and implementing logistics plans, adhering to policies and regulations, managing warehouses and inventory, and operational planning for vehicle fleets. Additional years of experience are highly desirable. Experience in workshop and fuel management, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures and safety rules, is also needed.
