Job Purpose
The Logistics Associate (External Services) G6 will support the coordination and management of common logistics services provided to humanitarian partners in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient, transparent, and compliant delivery of logistics support, aligning with WFP's mandate and the UN80 reform objectives. The incumbent will oversee operational requests, facilitate communication between partners and national institutions, and ensure adherence to WFP's procedures and standards. Key responsibilities include preparing coordination meeting agendas, tracking decisions, managing service requests, compiling operational data for analysis, supporting the application of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and liaising with public institutions. This position contributes significantly to strengthening national capacities and enhancing the overall effectiveness of humanitarian logistics in a complex operational environment.
Responsibilities
The Logistics Associate (G6) role is primarily responsible for supporting common logistics services provided to humanitarian partners. This involves overseeing the operational aspects of logistics service requests, ensuring strict adherence to WFP procedures and maintaining thorough documentation of all activities. A key function is contributing to daily coordination by organizing meetings, facilitating communication among stakeholders, and supporting the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The role also entails managing and coordinating logistical information, monitoring performance, identifying shared partner needs, and executing operations. Furthermore, the position supports national coordination mechanisms and capacity-building initiatives, aiming to enhance the efficiency, transparency, and adaptability of common logistics services within the specific context of Haiti. This includes preparing meeting agendas, tracking decisions, ensuring information flow between humanitarian partners and national institutions, and compiling operational data for analysis and decision-making. The associate also assists in budget monitoring, procurement processes, inventory management, and planning training sessions for national counterparts, ultimately contributing to crisis preparedness and resilience.
Work Experience
Requires a minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in logistics, supply chain, or humanitarian operations. Experience with UN agencies or NGOs is desirable.
