Job Purpose
The Logistics Assistant (Information Management) will support the Supply Chain Unit in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, by managing and maintaining the online logistics information platform. This role is crucial for providing a comprehensive overview of humanitarian needs and logistics operations. The assistant will collaborate closely with the Logistics and Data & Knowledge Management teams to collect, filter, and analyze relevant logistics information. Key responsibilities include contributing to sector-specific logistics assessments, producing information management products like access constraint maps, and ensuring the platform's content is up-to-date and accurate. The position also involves identifying data gaps, establishing relationships with partners for data sharing, and representing WFP in relevant meetings, ultimately strengthening the information management capacity for logistics operations in Haiti.
Responsibilities
The Logistics Assistant, Information Management role focuses on managing and maintaining an online logistics platform with various data layers. Key responsibilities include conducting multisectoral and logistics-specific assessments, producing information management products like access constraint maps and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and developing methods for disseminating information. The role involves collecting, filtering, and analyzing relevant logistics information, identifying information needs, and compiling logistics activity reports for a distribution list. A significant part of the job is reviewing existing datasets on the Haiti logistics platform, identifying missing data, and determining how to obtain it. This includes establishing relationships with key partners and representing the platform in partner meetings. The assistant will also contribute to developing SOPs for data exchange and updates, maintaining platform content, and reporting any implementation issues. Additionally, the role involves preparing presentations and reports, advising institutional partners, and performing other tasks as needed. The position requires strong analytical skills, data management experience, and the ability to work collaboratively within a humanitarian context.
Work Experience
Requires at least five years of experience in database or information systems management. Experience with GIS platforms (ArcGIS or others) is considered an asset.
