Job Purpose
The Adjoint à la Logistique SC6 in Bria, RCA, will provide specialized support and potentially supervise staff in implementing standard logistics and supply chain procedures. This role is crucial for ensuring the effective and timely delivery of goods and services, including food assistance, to beneficiaries. Key responsibilities include coordinating purchase requests, managing service provider contracts, monitoring inventory, and ensuring the integrity of data. The position involves analyzing supply chains, contributing to operational planning, and managing logistical documentation, including customs clearance and invoice verification. The role requires proactive problem-solving, reporting on various logistical aspects, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders to optimize operations and support emergency preparedness and response efforts.
Responsibilities
The role involves providing specialized support for logistics operations, ensuring efficient delivery of food assistance. Key responsibilities include coordinating purchase requests, managing timely delivery of goods to authorized partners and sites, and overseeing contractual agreements with service providers, including performance monitoring. The position requires collecting market intelligence and evaluating suppliers and transporters to facilitate selection. It also entails managing technical and assistance requests, offering recommendations, and ensuring prompt, accurate information processing with a strong customer service focus. Budget establishment, monitoring, and revision are crucial, along with adherence to institutional procedures. Stock management operations are supervised to analyze trends and report on inventory status. Data quality control for commodity accounting, supply chain analysis, and operational planning are also part of the role. This includes managing logistical documentation, resolving operational issues, and escalating complex problems. Research, data collection, analysis, and reporting are essential for informed decision-making. Liaison with internal and external stakeholders, supervision of support staff, and providing guidance to achieve objectives are also key. Furthermore, the role supports emergency preparedness and crisis response logistics, including updating capacity assessments and contingency plans.
Work Experience
Requires at least 6 years of experience in the field. This includes managing internal systems, handling requests for ongoing shipments, procurement, insurance claims, and food stocks. Experience is also needed in administering contracts with third-party service providers, establishing and executing contractual documents, and monitoring budgets with related reporting.
