Job Purpose
The Partnerships Associate will provide essential coordination and specialized support to the Country Office in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, focusing on donor relations and the development of new and existing partnerships. This role is crucial for advocating WFP's work and achieving Sustainable Development Goals 2 and 17. The Associate will identify and track partnership and funding opportunities, support the implementation of work plans to consolidate alliances with donors, and assist in developing proposals. Key responsibilities include maintaining a directory of relevant actors, preparing official communications, analyzing information for decision-making, and supporting commitments with partners. The position also involves coordinating logistical aspects for meetings and visits, ensuring fluid communication, and maintaining confidentiality. This role is vital for strengthening WFP's position as a technical and operational partner to the Government and ensuring effective resource mobilization.
Responsibilities
The Partnerships Associate role at WFP Tajikistan focuses on strengthening donor relations and fostering new and existing partnerships to advance WFP's mission and achieve Sustainable Development Goals 2 and 17. Key responsibilities include identifying and tracking partnership and funding opportunities, supporting the development of proposals for donors, and maintaining a comprehensive directory of relevant actors and partners. The associate will also be responsible for preparing official communications, analyzing documents to provide decision-making insights, and managing commitments with partners. This involves consolidating information, systematizing progress, and alerting on specific needs. Additionally, the role requires supporting the Partnerships Unit's work plan, organizing information from various sources for reporting, and coordinating logistical aspects for meetings and visits. Maintaining clear communication with internal and external teams and ensuring the confidentiality of sensitive information are also crucial. The position requires a secondary school education, a post-secondary certificate in a relevant field, and at least six years of professional experience in administrative, technical, or project support, with a minimum of three years in areas like national/international cooperation, alliance management, or engagement with development partners. Fluency in English and Tajik and/or Russian is essential.
Work Experience
Requires a minimum of six years of progressive professional experience in administrative, technical, or project support. At least three of these years must be focused on areas such as national and international cooperation, alliance management, partnerships, advocacy, report preparation, information analysis, or engagement with development partners. Experience in document preparation, logistical support, and coordinating social or humanitarian projects is considered an asset.
