Job Purpose

Responsibilities
The Programme Policy Officer for School Feeding is responsible for providing technical and operational support to the planning, implementation, and monitoring of school feeding activities in the Republic of Congo, ensuring adherence to WFP standards and national priorities. This involves contributing to the development and management of school feeding projects, aligning them with WFP policies and national education and social protection objectives. A core duty is the regular monitoring of activities, encompassing data collection on school attendance, meal distribution, and nutritional indicators, to guarantee data quality and reliability. The officer will analyze operational and programmatic challenges to improve interventions and adapt approaches, such as fostering sustainable school feeding and local production linkages. The role also entails preparing accurate and timely technical and operational reports for management decision-making and informing partners and donors. Effective coordination is essential, requiring liaison with WFP internal teams and external partners, including educational authorities, schools, and communities. Additionally, the officer will support the identification and development of partnerships with governmental institutions, NGOs, and local communities to enhance program implementation and sustainability. Capacity building for stakeholders in school canteen management and best practices is another key responsibility, alongside providing support to staff and undertaking other tasks vital for the effective execution of school feeding initiatives.
Work Experience
A university degree (Bachelor's or equivalent) in a relevant field such as international development, project management, social sciences, education, nutrition, or agriculture is required. More than 3 years of relevant professional experience in development, food security, nutrition, education, or program management is desired. Experience supporting program implementation, particularly in school feeding or social intervention contexts, is a plus.
