Job Purpose
The Field Assistant will provide essential technical support to the Territorial Unit of the School Feeding Program (PAE) in Cusco. Responsibilities
The Field Assistant will provide technical support to the School Feeding Program (PAE) territorial units in Cusco, Peru. This role involves accompanying educational institutions implementing an economic subsidy modality for school feeding. Key responsibilities include strengthening the capacities of the PAE field monitoring team in management, operations, and monitoring of this modality. The assistant will also support the technical team in designing and implementing training plans for stakeholders involved in food service delivery. A crucial aspect of the role is facilitating commercial linkages between School Feeding Management Committees (CGAE) and family farmers to promote the supply of fresh local produce that meets quality standards. Additionally, the Field Assistant will support the generation of evidence regarding the implementation of the economic subsidy modality, documenting progress, challenges, and lessons learned through technical reports. This includes accompanying local PAE management assistants on visits to educational institutions to verify service management processes and identify areas for improvement. The position also requires incorporating gender equality principles into all activities and supporting other related tasks as needed by the WFP sub-office in Cusco. The role aims to enhance the capabilities of local actors in managing the school feeding service effectively and ensuring the quality of school meals.
Work Experience
The role requires a minimum of 4 years of experience in nutrition, public health, or social projects. Additionally, a minimum of 3 years of specific experience is desired in capacity building, field work, and data collection within relevant areas. Experience with international organizations, health ministries, or social programs is also preferred.
