Responsibilities
The Storekeeper role at the World Food Programme (WFP) is crucial for maintaining efficient warehouse operations and minimizing losses. Key responsibilities include accurately receiving, dispatching, and verifying commodities against official documentation, ensuring both physical count and quality meet established standards. The Storekeeper is responsible for preparing, verifying, and signing warehouse and transport documents, maintaining confidential files, and keeping accurate transaction records for immediate reporting of commodity movements. Daily reconciliation of warehouse closing and inventory checks are essential for supporting internal control systems. The role involves conducting daily inspections of commodity quantity and quality, promptly detecting and analyzing stock discrepancies or damages, investigating missing quantities, and preparing loss reports with recommended solutions. Safeguarding food and non-food commodities through standard preventive measures and authorized actions is paramount. Additionally, the Storekeeper monitors the condition of the warehouse and commodities, implementing appropriate actions for efficient space planning and organized storage according to WFP standards. Work Experience
Requires 4 or more years of experience in a similar role. Experience with logistics databases for routine reports, managing warehouses with food and non-food items, inventory management, and processing invoices is also needed.
