Job Purpose

The Internship in the Communication Team of the WFP Tokyo Office provides crucial support to the WFP Japan Relations Office in enhancing communication and partnership efforts. The intern will assist in maintaining the WFP website and social media channels by creating engaging content, including videos and social media assets. Responsibilities include developing and managing content for WFP Japan's social media presence, supporting media relations by assisting with interviews and information requests, and producing various communication materials such as brochures and audio-visual content. Additionally, the intern will help compile donor visibility materials, generate reports on communication and fundraising activities, and support visibility initiatives like public events. This role is instrumental in strengthening WFP Japan's relationships with media and external stakeholders, contributing to the organization's outreach and advocacy goals.

Responsibilities

The World Food Programme (WFP) is seeking an intern to support its Japan Relations Office in communication and partnership activities. The intern will assist in maintaining the WFP website and social media channels by creating engaging video and social media content, and will be responsible for developing, managing, and generating content for WFP Japan's social media presence across platforms like Facebook and Twitter. Key duties include supporting media relations by organizing interviews, responding to information requests, and tracking media coverage. The intern will also produce various communication materials, including information and audio-visual content, brochures, and donor visibility materials. Furthermore, they will help compile reports on communication and fundraising activities, support the organization of visibility initiatives like public events, and assist in cultivating relationships with media, private sector entities, NGOs, and academic institutions. Work Experience

The role requires candidates to be currently enrolled in a program with at least two years of undergraduate studies completed, or to have graduated within the last six months. The field of study should be international relations, business, marketing, or a related area. Candidates must have attended university courses in the past 12 months. Proficiency in Japanese (native level) and English (excellent command) is essential, along with strong MS Office skills.
