Job Purpose

The Logistics Cluster Coordinator will lead and oversee the Gaza field-level component of the Palestine Logistics Cluster response. This pivotal role involves serving as the primary liaison for Gaza-based stakeholders, partners, and operational counterparts, ensuring the establishment and maintenance of inter-agency coordination systems, information platforms, and operational services. The coordinator will be responsible for collecting and disseminating critical information, establishing efficient operations to support humanitarian partners within Gaza, and aligning activities with the overall Palestine Logistics Cluster strategy and UN80 reform. Key responsibilities include supervising Gaza-based staff, managing field-level operations, monitoring and reporting on activities, and escalating operational challenges. The role demands strong leadership in inter-agency coordination, needs assessment, planning, and implementation, ensuring coherence between Gaza operations, corridor-level planning, and broader logistics reform efforts.

Responsibilities

The Gaza Logistics Cluster Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the field-level operations of the Palestine Logistics Cluster response within Gaza. This role involves acting as the primary liaison for Gaza-based stakeholders, partners, and operational counterparts, providing leadership to establish and maintain inter-agency coordination systems, information platforms, and operational services. The coordinator ensures the collection and dissemination of relevant information, setting up efficient operations to support humanitarian partners in Gaza, aligning with the overall Palestine Logistics Cluster strategy and UN80 reform. Key duties include supervising Gaza-based Logistics Cluster staff, coordinating field operations, monitoring and reporting on activities, and escalating operational challenges to national-level support. The position requires ensuring coherence between Gaza operations, corridor-level planning, and broader logistics reform, including the implementation of common logistics services. This involves leading continuous identification and assessment of logistics capacities, gaps, and bottlenecks, supporting needs assessments, and monitoring entry points and market disruptions. The coordinator will chair regular Logistics Coordination meetings, represent the Gaza field-level logistics in national discussions, and manage information flow, including analysis and dissemination of logistics data, risk assessments, and operational reporting. Additionally, the role involves contributing to preparedness through contingency planning and capacity building for national staff and partners, ensuring the effective delivery of humanitarian aid in a complex and evolving crisis.

Work Experience

Requires at least 5 years of professional experience in humanitarian operations, including assessment, budget management, monitoring, and evaluation. This includes a minimum of 2 years in emergency response or preparedness projects and at least 3 years in supply chain or logistics operations (e.g., transport, warehousing, freight forwarding). A strong understanding of the international humanitarian response architecture and logistics in humanitarian settings is also essential.
