Job Purpose
The Marketing Volunteer will support the WFP Communications Unit in Latin America and the Caribbean (LACRO) by focusing on integrated marketing to promote the WFP brand. This role involves assisting with the implementation of communication activities, including media monitoring, translation, and content production for social media, photography, and video. The volunteer will contribute to ensuring consistency with global narratives and regional messages, support campaign development, and assist in promoting donors and partners. Key responsibilities include creating engaging content, managing social media scheduling, analyzing campaign data, and preparing reports. The position requires strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills, with proficiency in digital tools and a proactive approach to supporting the unit's objectives in achieving zero hunger.
Responsibilities
The Marketing Volunteer will support the World Food Programme's Communications Unit in Latin America and the Caribbean (LACRO) by promoting WFP's mission and brand. Key responsibilities include assisting with integrated marketing efforts, ensuring brand consistency across all communication products, and writing copy for regional campaigns focused on zero food waste, nutritious meals, climate adaptation, and gender equality. The volunteer will also help develop strategies for engaging digital influencers, promote donors and partners, and manage social media scheduling across platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn. This role involves creating content, monitoring media and brand presence, translating and editing documents, and preparing reports on campaign results and social media performance. Additionally, the volunteer will support internal communications, staff engagement, and assist with event preparation. The position requires strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills, proficiency in MS Office and design tools like Canva and Adobe Photoshop, and the ability to work creatively and proactively in a multicultural environment. Fluency in Spanish and English is essential.
Work Experience
The role requires candidates to be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Multimedia Production, or a related field. Applicants should have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies or be recent graduates (within 6 months). Fluency in Spanish and a working level of English (C) are also necessary. Experience with MS Office, Canva, and Adobe products like Photoshop and Premiere is beneficial.
