Job Purpose
The Human Resources Assistant (SC5) will provide essential support to WFP's human resources functions, ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of HR services. This role involves responding to staff inquiries on HR policies and procedures, assisting with key HR processes such as recruitment, onboarding, and contract management, and liaising with internal units to ensure timely processing of personnel matters. The incumbent will also support staff well-being initiatives, collect and analyze HR data for reporting, and maintain confidential personnel records and databases. A key responsibility includes drafting and verifying HR documents, ensuring accuracy and adherence to WFP standards, and contributing to a positive employee experience.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities involve providing comprehensive human resources support to personnel. This includes addressing general inquiries about HR policies, procedures, benefits, and systems, ensuring consistent, efficient, and client-oriented service delivery. A key function is supporting core HR processes such as recruitment, onboarding, contract preparation, transfers, training, and administrative file management. The role also requires liaising with internal units on payroll, salary adjustments, benefits, and performance-related deadlines to ensure timely processing of staff matters. Additionally, specific support is offered for well-being, insurance, and medical evacuations, contributing to a positive employee experience. Data management is crucial, involving the collection, verification, consolidation, and analysis of HR data for reporting and decision-making. Maintaining confidential personnel files, databases, and HR management systems with accuracy and integrity is essential. Finally, the role entails drafting, verifying, and tracking HR documents, including employment contracts and administrative correspondence, ensuring their accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
