Job Purpose
The Senior Programme Assistant will provide operational support with minimal supervision, ensuring organized and accurate work within the specific technical area. This role involves supporting the development and implementation of the School Feeding Program (PAE) model, ensuring adherence to corporate standards and guidelines across technical, administrative, financial, logistical, and monitoring components. The incumbent will collect and analyze data to support operational decision-making, prepare reports on program status and resource utilization, and collaborate with internal counterparts to ensure effective project implementation and monitoring. Additionally, the role requires maintaining accurate data records, following emergency preparedness standards for rapid response, and providing guidance on standard practices to less experienced personnel. The position is crucial for the effective execution of the PAE program in La Guajira, contributing to peacebuilding and improved livelihoods for vulnerable populations.
Responsibilities
The role involves performing specialized and standardized technical activities aligned with broader program policies. Key responsibilities include project management and general office support, adhering to World Food Programme (WFP) objectives and procedures. This position requires data collection and analysis to support operational decision-making, contributing to reports on food assistance needs, resource utilization, and program performance. A significant aspect is supporting the development and implementation of the School Feeding Program (PAE) operational model across technical, administrative, financial, logistical, and monitoring components, ensuring adherence to corporate standards. Accurate and timely data recording, particularly for food security and vulnerability assessments, is crucial. Collaboration with internal counterparts is essential for effective project implementation and monitoring. The role also mandates adherence to emergency preparedness practices to ensure rapid WFP response during crises. Additional duties may be assigned by the supervisor, consistent with the role's purpose. Minimum qualifications include secondary education, with a degree in nutrition, food engineering, agricultural engineering, or environmental engineering being desirable. The position requires a minimum of five years of progressive experience in social program design and implementation, territorial development, planning, and community participation, with a specific focus on school feeding programs. Three years of experience in advising, implementing, monitoring, or contracting school feeding services is also required. Experience in complex contexts, humanitarian responses, capacity building for community organizations, and prior work with UN agencies are desirable.
Work Experience
Requires five (5) years of progressive experience in designing and implementing social programs, territorial development, planning, and community participation. Special emphasis is placed on experience with school feeding programs. Additionally, a minimum of three (3) years of specific experience is needed in projects related to advising, implementing, monitoring, auditing, and contracting public services for school feeding.
