Job Purpose
The Senior Programme Assistant will provide crucial administrative and technical support within the Emergency Preparedness and Response unit. This role involves assisting in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of diverse program activities, ensuring alignment with WFP policies and guidelines. The incumbent will support data analysis, reporting, and the timely registration of program-related data, contributing to effective program delivery and stakeholder communication. Additionally, the position requires fostering collaboration with internal counterparts and supporting capacity-building initiatives for WFP staff and partners. The role is essential for ensuring WFP's readiness to respond rapidly to crises and deliver necessary resources to affected areas, ultimately contributing to the organization's mission of fighting hunger and supporting vulnerable communities.
Responsibilities
The role involves providing technical support and assistance in the development and implementation of emergency preparedness and response activities, ensuring alignment with broader program policies. This includes supporting the planning, preparation, and management of projects to meet established goals and WFP procedures. A key responsibility is assisting in the preparation of reports and data analysis related to food assistance needs, program implementation, and execution, ensuring timely and coherent data registration for stakeholders. The position requires maintaining internal contact for effective collaboration and project activity monitoring. It also involves supporting capacity-building initiatives for WFP staff, cooperating partners, and grassroots organizations. Adherence to standard emergency preparedness and response practices is crucial for rapid response and resource deployment to affected areas. Furthermore, the role supports the selection and performance evaluation of cooperating partners and undertakes other required activities as requested by the supervisor, all while adhering to WFP's values of integrity, collaboration, commitment, humanity, and inclusion.
Work Experience
Requires five years of progressive experience in designing and implementing social programs, territorial development, planning, and community participation. Special emphasis is placed on experience with hot meal provision programs.
