Job Purpose

The Programme Associate G6 will provide specialized technical support and analysis for WFP's activities in Chad, focusing on programme implementation and policy alignment. This role involves assisting in the development and execution of diverse programme activities, ensuring they meet WFP's broader objectives and guidelines. The incumbent will contribute to project management, ensuring timely and effective delivery of assistance, and will be responsible for generating reports and data analysis on needs, resource utilization, and programme performance. Key responsibilities include maintaining accurate data records, fostering collaboration with internal teams and external partners, and supporting capacity building initiatives. The Programme Associate will also play a crucial role in operational problem-solving and may supervise support staff, ensuring adherence to quality standards and emergency preparedness.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities involve providing specialized technical assistance and project management support for various programs. This includes aiding in the development and implementation of activities and procedures, ensuring alignment with broader program policies and guidelines. A key aspect is the creation of reports and data analyses, focusing on areas like food assistance needs, resource utilization, program progress, and performance. These analyses should identify trends and issues, adhering to WFP's quality standards. Accurate and timely data recording for technical areas, such as assistance programs and food security assessments, is crucial, ensuring information consistency for stakeholders. Effective liaison with colleagues is necessary to foster collaboration and ensure efficient project implementation and monitoring. Communication and consultation with local partners, agencies, NGOs, and public institutions are vital for precise food security analyses and efficient food assistance delivery. Furthermore, responsibilities include contributing to capacity building for WFP staff, cooperating partners, and national governments in the relevant technical domain. The role also entails acting as a point of contact for resolving operational issues and supervising support staff, offering guidance to meet agreed objectives. Finally, adherence to standard emergency preparedness practices is required to ensure rapid response and resource deployment during crises.

Work Experience

Requires at least six years of postgraduate experience in planning, implementation, and monitoring/evaluation of humanitarian and development projects related to education or gender issues. Experience in nutrition is considered an asset.
