Job Purpose
The Operational Information Management & Reporting Officer is responsible for ensuring the availability of accurate, timely, and actionable information that supports operational decision-making, donor reporting, and strategic positioning within WFP Rwanda. This role is central to translating complex operational data into compelling, evidence-based reporting products that demonstrate results and impact, meeting both donor and corporate requirements. The officer will consolidate and analyze data from various systems, develop dashboards, produce regular operational updates, and lead the preparation of key reports such as the Annual Country Report and donor progress reports. By ensuring data consistency, quality assurance, and clear narrative development, the position strengthens WFP's accountability, safeguards funds, and enhances its positioning with government and partners.
Responsibilities
The role encompasses comprehensive data management and operational analysis, involving the consolidation of data from key corporate systems and partner inputs, ensuring consistency across various outputs. A core responsibility is to analyze operational data to identify trends, risks, and gaps, thereby maintaining a "common operating picture" to inform management decisions. The position also involves developing and maintaining country-level dashboards and producing regular operational updates, briefs, and visual products for senior management and external stakeholders, translating complex data into clear, user-friendly visuals and key messages. Furthermore, the role leads the preparation and coordination of critical corporate and donor reports, including the Annual Country Report and monthly briefs, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and drafting high-quality documents that demonstrate results and impact. Strategic narrative development is key, translating operational data into compelling, non-technical stories for donors and partners, ensuring consistent messaging across all communication products and highlighting WFP’s comparative advantages. Information coordination and quality assurance are paramount, involving the alignment of inputs from various units and field offices, managing internal review processes, and strengthening quality control to ensure accuracy, coherence, and completeness of all deliverables. Finally, the role supports knowledge management and learning by maintaining a repository of reports, documenting best practices, and developing standardized tools and guidance.
Work Experience
Minimum 1 year of relevant professional experience in data analytics, partnerships, programme management, business development, strategy, or other functions requiring information synthesis and stakeholder coordination.
