Job Purpose

The CBT Officer (Resources Management) plays a pivotal role in ensuring the effective and accountable management of resources for WFP's large-scale Cash-Based Transfer (CBT) operations in Sudan. With ambitious plans to expand CBTs to reach 2.3 million beneficiaries by December 2026, this position is crucial for optimizing the utilization of significant funding and grants. The incumbent will be responsible for monitoring CBT funds, managing grants, and ensuring timely documentation and reporting to facilitate informed decision-making. This includes acting as the WINGS focal point for financial processes, supporting the resource pipeline analysis, and contributing to donor reporting on grant utilization. The role also involves providing operational support and building capacity among WFP staff in financial management, thereby maximizing operational effectiveness and ensuring that humanitarian assistance reaches those most in need efficiently and transparently.

Responsibilities include monitoring fund utilization, preparing grant management reports, acting as a WINGS focal point for procurement processes, supporting resource pipeline monitoring, contributing to staff capacity building in CBT operations, representing the unit in the CBT Resource Management Committee, and assisting with donor reporting. The position requires a university degree, at least three years of relevant experience, and fluency in English and Arabic. Desired experience includes CBT implementation in conflict settings, financial analysis, and familiarity with WFP systems like WINGS and COMET.

Work Experience

Requires at least three years of postgraduate professional experience in a relevant and progressively responsible capacity.

Skills

Skills include financial and grants management, resource allocation, budget analysis, and donor reporting. Expertise in WFP systems (WINGS, COMET) and food assistance processes. Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, report writing, and documentation. Experience in capacity building, operational planning, and programme implementation, particularly Cash-Based Transfers. Proficient computer literacy. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Fluent in English and Arabic.
