Job Purpose
The Warehouse Assistant (SC4) is responsible for managing the reception, dispatch, and verification of goods to optimize warehouse operations, minimize losses, and uphold best practices in warehousing. This role involves all phases of warehouse operations, requiring minimal supervision. The incumbent will ensure the accuracy of physical counts, quality checks, and proper documentation for all warehouse transactions, maintaining confidential records and precise transaction logs. They will conduct daily reconciliation of warehouse closing and accurate inventory checks to support internal controls. Furthermore, the role includes inspecting goods, reporting on quantity and quality, identifying stock discrepancies or damages, and recommending solutions to minimize warehouse losses. The Warehouse Assistant will implement measures to protect food and non-food items, ensure quality control, and maintain organized storage according to WFP standards. They may also provide on-the-job training to other warehouse staff.
Responsibilities

Implementing measures to protect food and non-food products, ensuring quality control through preventive measures, and maintaining an organized warehouse space according to WFP standards are also key duties. Additionally, the role involves providing on-the-job training and guidance to other warehouse staff to support their development and performance. The position requires a strong understanding of logistics, supply chain management, and inventory control, with the ability to implement operational procedures and utilize relevant databases and reporting tools.
Work Experience
Requires at least 4 years of professional experience in logistics, supply chain, or a related field.
