Job Purpose
The Programme Associate (Information Management) provides essential technical support to the Food Security Sector (FSS) coordination team, playing a pivotal role in ensuring data-driven, transparent, and accountable food security interventions. This position is primarily responsible for managing the entire data lifecycle, from collection and cleaning to advanced analysis and compelling visualization of sector-specific information. The Associate maintains and updates high-quality information systems, including 3W, 4W, and 5W frameworks, gap analyses, and interactive dashboards, which are critical for effective decision-making. Key objectives include developing and producing comprehensive information products such as interactive dashboards, partner presence maps, and funding analyses, alongside conducting in-depth geographic, demographic, and food security analyses to identify vulnerabilities and operational priorities. The role also involves supporting sector planning, reporting exercises, and capacity strengthening for partners, ensuring timely dissemination of critical information and fostering robust information exchange across all stakeholders. Ultimately, this role ensures that the FSS has reliable, accessible data to guide its strategic and operational responses.
Responsibilities
The Information Management Associate is responsible for the comprehensive management of Food Security Sector (FSS) data. This includes overseeing data collection, rigorous analysis, and accurate reporting, adhering to WFP and global FSC standards. Key duties involve maintaining and updating centralized information management systems and databases, ensuring data integrity, accessibility, and integration across various partners and activities. The role involves developing analytical outputs and information products such as interactive dashboards, gap analyses, and situational updates to support decision-making. Furthermore, the associate conducts detailed geographic, demographic, and food security analyses to identify vulnerabilities and operational priorities. They are also tasked with designing and maintaining data visualization and geospatial products, including maps and spatial analyses. Support is provided for sector planning and reporting exercises, inter-agency information management processes, and the compilation, cleaning, and dissemination of sector-specific datasets. The associate drafts and distributes various sector reports and information products, manages information-sharing platforms, and coordinates information exchange with FSS partners and stakeholders. Additionally, they provide crucial information management support to sector coordination mechanisms, offer technical assistance and capacity building to partners, and support sector events and knowledge management initiatives. The role also encompasses undertaking additional tasks as required to support the FSS and WFP operations.
Work Experience
A minimum of 6 years of work experience is required in data management, statistical analysis, information management, or a related field.
Skills
Data management, statistical analysis, and information management. Expertise in data collection, cleaning, analysis, visualization, and reporting. Skilled in developing interactive dashboards, maps, and geospatial products using BI and GIS platforms (Power BI, Tableau, QGIS, ArcGIS). Proficient in advanced MS Excel, relational databases, and mobile data collection tools (Kobo Toolbox, ODK). Strong capabilities in managing information systems, coordinating information exchange, and providing technical support. Fluent in English and Bangla.
