Job Purpose

Responsibilities
The Programme Associate (VAM) provides specialized technical and analytical support within the RAM unit, ensuring data-driven decision-making and performance monitoring aligned with WFP corporate standards. Key responsibilities include assisting the VAM officer in implementing vulnerability, food security, and nutrition assessments, which involves designing tools, systems, and analyzing food assistance needs using statistical software such as SPSS, STATA, or R. The role also encompasses developing and maintaining information products and knowledge management systems, including dashboards and SharePoint platforms, while compiling, cleaning, and managing spatial and non-spatial datasets related to food security, socio-economic conditions, and vulnerability. The Associate is tasked with updating and enhancing databases like DataViz and MODA, ensuring data quality and accessibility, and providing technical support to WFP staff and government counterparts to strengthen their capacities in assessments and data analysis. Furthermore, the position requires preparing and quality-assuring analytical outputs, such as reports, presentations, and data visualizations using tools like GIS, Power BI, and Excel, to support informed decision-making and reporting. The Associate contributes to the design and quality assurance of VAM activities, monitors data collection processes, and interprets datasets on food security and programme performance. Liaison with internal units, partners, and government counterparts is crucial for coordinated data collection and reporting, alongside providing technical guidance to field staff. The role also supports emergency preparedness, rapid assessments, and capacity-building initiatives for local stakeholders.
Work Experience
Requires at least 6 years of progressive work experience in food security and nutrition, focusing on data collection, analysis, and reporting. Must demonstrate proficiency in statistical tools like SPSS, STATA, R, and GIS for food security analysis and mapping. Practical expertise gained through participation in multiple assessments is also required.
