Job Purpose
The Data Analyst Intern will support the Office of Internal Audit (OIGA) by extracting, cleaning, and validating datasets from various corporate systems. This role involves conducting exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and risk indicators, and assisting in the application of analytics to risk assessment, planning, and monitoring activities. The intern will contribute to the development and enhancement of dashboards and visualizations using tools like Tableau and Excel, and support pilot initiatives in automation and analytics innovation. Additionally, the intern will assist in documenting analytical methodologies and results, gaining practical experience in data analytics within a humanitarian context and understanding how analytics informs WFP's governance, risk management, and control improvements.
Responsibilities
The Office of Internal Audit (OIGA) within the World Food Programme (WFP) is seeking an intern to support its mission of providing independent assurance and advisory services. Additionally, the role involves supporting the development and maintenance of data visualizations using tools like Tableau or Excel, and assisting in pilot initiatives related to automation, artificial intelligence, or analytics innovation. The intern will also be responsible for documenting analytical methodologies, assumptions, and findings. Work Experience
This is an internship position. Applicants must be currently enrolled in a graduate program, in the final year of a Bachelor's program, or be recent graduates (within six months) with recent university enrollment. A field of study in data science, computer science, IT, web development, statistics, engineering, or a related field is required. Proficiency in Python and data visualization tools like Tableau is necessary. Basic data analytics and statistical concepts are also required. Familiarity with AI/ML is desirable. Excellent English is mandatory.
