Job Purpose
The Programme Assistant (Database & Scope) will perform specialized and standardized processes and activities to support the effective delivery of WFP's assistance packages. This role involves managing beneficiary data, including collection, validation, cleaning, and analysis, ensuring accurate entry into corporate tools like COMET and SCOPE. The assistant will also manage data for Cash-Based Transfer (CBT) projects, build capacity of staff on data management, and compile/analyze project data for reporting. They will support monitoring and evaluation activities, ensure data protection policies are implemented, and assist in preparing reports and presentations to facilitate informed decision-making and stakeholder communication. This position is crucial for maintaining data integrity and supporting operational efficiency in programme delivery.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities involve performing specialized and standardized processes within a specific technical area to support broader program policies and guidelines. This includes providing project management and general office support, adhering to established targets and organizational procedures. A key function is compiling data, supporting analysis, and preparing reports on aspects like food assistance needs, resource utilization, and program performance to aid operational decision-making. Accurate and timely data recording, following corporate standards, is crucial, particularly for areas such as food security and vulnerability assessments. Collaboration with internal counterparts is essential for effective implementation and monitoring of project activities. Additionally, the role supports communication and engagement with local partners, agencies, NGOs, and government institutions. Acting as a point of contact for operational queries and following emergency preparedness practices to ensure rapid response during crises are also vital duties. Further responsibilities include managing beneficiary data, ensuring its collection, validation, cleaning, and analysis, and accurate entry into corporate tools like COMET and SCOPE. Capacity building for project and partner staff on data management and statistical analysis is also a significant component. The role ensures adherence to data protection policies and facilitates the implementation of COMET modules, providing necessary analysis and reports. Assistance to the M&E unit, including technical analysis and interpretation, and ensuring data accuracy for reporting are also key. Finally, contributing to accurate and timely reporting and infographic presentations to support informed decision-making is expected.
Work Experience
Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in programme-related activities. Of this, at least 3 years must be specifically in database management and monitoring of humanitarian or development projects.
