Job Purpose
This role is to build a roster of prequalified candidates for future Logistics Associate (Level 6) or Logistics Assistant (Level 5) opportunities within Pakistan. The primary purpose is to provide specialized support and potentially supervise staff in executing standard logistics and supply chain processes. This involves ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of goods and services, managing vendor contracts, monitoring inventory, and preparing operational reports. Responsibilities
The Logistics Associate/Assistant provides specialized support to logistics and supply chain operations, ensuring the effective delivery of food assistance and other goods to beneficiaries. Key responsibilities include coordinating the timely requisitioning and delivery of commodities to partners and destinations. The role involves managing logistics vendors, including contracting, performance monitoring, and supporting market intelligence for vendor selection. The associate identifies and resolves specialized queries, providing recommendations with a client service mindset. Financial oversight is crucial, encompassing budget preparation, monitoring, and revision for all delivery modalities, ensuring adherence to corporate standards. They monitor inventory management processes, tracking trends and ensuring accurate accounting from source to beneficiary, while also supporting data quality for commodity accounting. Strategic contributions include analyzing operational pipelines and assisting in assessments and planning to integrate supply chain requirements. Operational execution involves managing documentation for logistics, such as customs clearance and invoice verification, and escalating complex issues. The role demands performing research, data collection, analysis, and producing reports to facilitate informed decision-making and maintain information accuracy in corporate systems. Collaboration is vital, requiring liaison with internal and external stakeholders to optimize logistics operations and service delivery. Additionally, the associate supervises support staff, offering practical guidance, and actively participates in logistics emergency preparedness and response activities, including capacity assessments and contingency plan updates, to strengthen WFP’s humanitarian response capabilities.
Work Experience
A minimum of 6 years of experience is required in Supply Chain-related industries, including logistics, shipping, procurement, and material distribution.
