Job Purpose
The Monitoring Assistant will perform essential monitoring activities within designated areas to ensure the effective delivery of assistance packages. This role involves verifying planned movements and distributions of food or non-food items, identifying and reporting any issues or discrepancies to supervisors to maintain WFP standards. The assistant will maintain accurate information records and monitor documentation, such as commodity movements and programme checklists, to support efficient operations. They will also collate data from assistance programmes, gather feedback from cooperating partners and beneficiaries, and provide guidance to partners on WFP operational practices. The primary objective is to support programme reviews, inform decision-making, and contribute to the overall visibility and efficiency of WFP's operations in Pakistan.
Responsibilities
The Monitoring Assistant's primary responsibilities involve ensuring the efficient and accurate delivery of food and non-food items. This includes verifying planned movements and distributions, promptly reporting any issues or discrepancies to supervisors to maintain WFP standards. A key duty is maintaining comprehensive records of commodity movements and programme checklists to support effective delivery. The role also requires collating data from assistance programmes to aid in reviews and decision-making, and liaising with cooperating partners and beneficiaries to gather feedback for service improvement and operational efficiency. Furthermore, the assistant provides guidance to partners on WFP operational practices and monitoring tools, prepares field mission reports, and adheres to emergency food assistance procedures. The position may also involve other related duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of WFP's humanitarian efforts.
Work Experience
Requires a minimum of 4 years of field work experience in social development, humanitarian work, health, nutrition, or food security. Candidates must also have experience in analyzing program output and outcome data, and possess general knowledge of WFP monitoring and evaluation systems and standards.
