Job Purpose
This role is crucial for ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant management of WFP's warehouse operations, directly contributing to the effective delivery of humanitarian assistance. The Warehouse Management Associate is responsible for the comprehensive planning, coordination, and oversight of all warehousing and storage activities, from the meticulous receipt to the timely dispatch of commodities and supplies. This encompasses maintaining accurate transaction records, conducting thorough inventory management, and implementing robust safeguarding measures to preserve commodity quality and prevent losses. The associate will also strategically review and optimize warehouse layouts for enhanced operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness, while fostering strong collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to deliver aligned and coherent warehouse services. Furthermore, the role involves supervising warehouse staff, identifying training needs, and ensuring high performance standards. The ultimate objective is to guarantee that WFP's vital humanitarian aid reaches beneficiaries effectively, without compromise, and in strict adherence to WFP's established guidelines and procedures, supporting critical relief efforts globally.
Responsibilities
The Warehouse Management Associate is primarily responsible for the effective planning and management of all warehouse operations, ensuring the safe and efficient storage of commodities and supplies in compliance with WFP guidelines. This involves coordinating the accurate receipt and dispatch of goods, maintaining precise transaction records, and promptly reporting any discrepancies to support informed decision-making. A key aspect of the role is comprehensive inventory management, including physical stock verification and addressing any issues to ensure strict adherence to WFP's commodity handling and storage procedures.
The associate also plays a crucial role in overseeing the safeguarding of commodities by implementing preventive measures to preserve their condition and initiating quality control actions as needed. They are tasked with reviewing warehouse space availability, planning new design layouts for cost-efficiency and business needs, and preparing regular reports and statistics on operations. Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders is essential to deliver coherent warehouse services. Furthermore, the role includes identifying and planning training for staff to ensure they possess the necessary skills, and supervising warehouse personnel to maintain high performance standards. The associate also contributes to reviewing corporate warehouse standards and performs other assigned duties.
Work Experience
A minimum of 6 years of experience is required in Supply Chain-related industries such as Logistics, Warehousing, Material distribution, Procurement, Contracting, or Administration.
