Job Purpose

The Programme Associate (Nutrition) will provide specialized support and technical analysis for nutrition-specific, nutrition-sensitive, and Social Behavior Change (SBC) activities. This role is crucial for ensuring the effective development and implementation of nutrition programs aligned with WFP's policies and guidelines. The incumbent will manage and monitor project activities, prepare reports, analyze data on food assistance needs and program performance, and ensure accurate data recording. Collaboration with internal and external partners, including local organizations and government institutions, is key to efficient delivery and monitoring. The role also involves supporting capacity building for WFP staff and partners, resolving operational queries, and overseeing support staff to meet objectives. Emergency preparedness for nutrition interventions is also a responsibility.

Responsibilities

The Programme Associate (Nutrition) role involves providing specialized technical support and analysis for policy and program activities related to food assistance. Key responsibilities include assisting in the development and implementation of nutrition-specific, nutrition-sensitive, and Social Behavior Change (SBC) activities, ensuring alignment with WFP policies. The role requires project management support to ensure activities meet targets and adherence to WFP procedures. This includes preparing reports and data analysis on food assistance needs, resource utilization, and program performance, highlighting trends and issues. Accurate and timely data recording within the nutrition and SBC technical areas is crucial, ensuring consistency for stakeholders. Collaboration with internal and external partners, including local organizations, government institutions, and UN agencies, is essential for effective project implementation and monitoring. The associate will also support capacity building for WFP staff, partners, and national governments in nutrition. Additionally, the role involves resolving operational queries, overseeing support staff, and maintaining emergency preparedness for nutrition interventions. The position requires at least six years of experience in humanitarian emergencies, focusing on nutrition programs, and fluency in English and Bangla.

Work Experience

Requires at least 6 years of overall experience in humanitarian and complex emergencies, with a focus on nutrition programs or other relevant fields. A university degree (Bachelor's or equivalent) is mandatory, preferably in Nutrition, Public Health Nutrition, or a related area.
