Job Purpose
The IT Operations Assistant - SCOPE will ensure the smooth functioning of IT systems and provide technical and operational support to field teams. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity, quality, and timely availability of beneficiary data for both in-kind and cash-based transfer (CBT) interventions. The incumbent will facilitate the deployment and daily use of SCOPE functionalities, including SCOPE In-Kind, online RTBI authentication, Track and Trace, and deduplication tools. By enhancing operational efficiency, accountability, and data-driven decision-making, this position directly contributes to WFP's mission in complex emergency contexts and scaling up operations.
Responsibilities
The IT Operations Assistant (SCOPE) plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of systems and providing technical support for field teams within the World Food Programme (WFP). This position is vital for maintaining the integrity, quality, and timely availability of beneficiary data, particularly for in-kind and cash-based transfer (CBT) interventions. Key responsibilities include offering daily technical assistance to SCOPE users, diagnosing and resolving issues related to registration, workflows, device usage, and access rights, and managing user accounts. The role also involves supporting data registration and verification activities, conducting regular data quality checks, and ensuring compliance with data protection and operational procedures. Furthermore, the assistant will execute and monitor data deduplication processes, prepare case files, and support adjudication meetings. They will also assist with beneficiary list reviews, distribution preparations, and resolving field-level issues affecting assistance access. Capacity building is another important aspect, involving training partners and program teams on SCOPE processes and operational guidelines. Regular reporting on data quality, deduplication status, and support tickets is also a core duty, ensuring documentation is maintained according to internal control requirements. This role contributes significantly to operational efficiency, accountability, and data-driven decision-making in complex emergency contexts.
Work Experience
Requires a minimum of five years of progressive experience in IT operations, digital systems support, or related fields. Must have hands-on experience with SCOPE or similar beneficiary management systems in a humanitarian or large-scale context, including system deployment, troubleshooting, and user support. Demonstrated ability to manage data processes and ensure service continuity in complex, resource-limited environments is essential.
