Job Purpose
The Mass Fundraising Lead will spearhead the newly unified Mass Fundraising workstream within WFP's Individual Giving (IG) program, integrating Regular Giving and Single Giving to drive sustainable growth. This role is pivotal in shaping the strategy for a cohesive program that enhances donor engagement and maximizes income from the SV–MV donor segment ($5–$9,999). The Lead will oversee the development and implementation of multi-channel fundraising campaigns across email, telemarketing, SMS, and direct mail, leveraging data to optimize donor journeys and retention. Accountable for significant income targets, the position involves line management of a sub-team, strategic planning, campaign design, and optimizing Salesforce for mass fundraising activities. This is a key opportunity to influence the growth of one of WFP's largest income streams and foster innovation in donor acquisition and engagement.
Responsibilities
The Mass Fundraising Lead is responsible for spearheading the strategic direction of a newly unified Mass Fundraising workstream, integrating Single Giving and Regular Giving to maximize value for the World Food Programme (WFP). This involves guiding the consolidation of planning for a consistent, omnichannel marketing program and managing annual forecasts, monitoring income against targets, and identifying risks and opportunities. A key responsibility is developing and implementing strategies for both Regular Giving and Mid-Value donors, focusing on retention, conversion, and increasing the overall value of the donor base through systematic testing and sector best practices. The role also entails line management of a sub-team, ensuring effective work allocation, resource management, and fostering a high-performance culture. Furthermore, the Lead will oversee the design and optimization of campaigns and donor journeys across various channels (email, SMS, telemarketing, WhatsApp), leveraging data and exploring new channels and markets. A significant aspect of the role involves leading the adoption and optimization of Salesforce for Mass Fundraising, including establishing clear processes and training. Collaboration with internal stakeholders, external agencies, and sector peers is crucial for alignment and knowledge sharing. The position also requires staying abreast of sector trends and contributing to broader team objectives, including potential collaboration on legacy outreach and expanding programs into new languages and markets.
Work Experience
Requires 8+ years of experience in leading fundraising programs, managing multi-channel campaigns, and supervising direct reports. Must possess strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and collaborative approach. Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment is essential. Availability for out-of-hours on-call work, including weekends during emergencies, is also necessary.
