Job Purpose
The Senior Programme Assistant for Data Management and Analytics will support the Identity Management (IDM) team within the Research, Assessment and Monitoring (RAM) unit. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality and effectiveness of WFP's interventions by managing beneficiary data throughout the program cycle. The incumbent will contribute to establishing strategies, policies, and procedures for appropriate data handling, analysis, and decision-making support. Responsibilities include coordinating information systems, optimizing data processes, designing technical solutions for descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analysis, managing beneficiary data in corporate systems, developing ETL pipelines, creating interactive dashboards, detecting and reducing data anomalies, and ensuring data integrity and consistency. This position will generate evidence to strengthen the quality and effectiveness of WFP programs in Colombia.
Responsibilities
The Senior Programme Assistant for Data Management and Analytics will play a crucial role in supporting the World Food Programme's (WFP) operations in Colombia. This position involves coordinating processes, roles, and information systems to ensure the complete lifecycle management of beneficiary data, adhering to corporate guidelines and standard operating procedures. The assistant will be responsible for designing, documenting, and optimizing data capture, cleansing, and reconciliation processes, focusing on efficiency, scalability, security, and traceability. A key aspect of the role is proposing technical strategies and solutions for descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analysis, leveraging statistical tools, algorithms, and machine learning techniques. The individual will manage beneficiary data within corporate systems, including deduplication, payment list generation, reconciliation, and traceability. Furthermore, they will design and implement ETL pipelines for integrating diverse data sources and generating reports, create interactive visualizations and dashboards using tools like Tableau, and detect and reduce data anomalies through automated scripts and controls. Collaboration with field offices and other units to ensure data availability and consistency, along with providing technical advice and training, will be essential. The role also requires applying data management policies and standards to guarantee data integrity and protect sensitive information, while continuously proposing improvements to processing flows and adopting modern data engineering and data science practices. This position is vital for generating evidence to enhance the quality and effectiveness of WFP's programs in Colombia.
Work Experience
Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in business intelligence, data management, and analysis. This includes experience in process design and developing analytical solutions. Specialized knowledge in data processing and analysis technologies such as Python, R, SQL, Access, and Excel is desirable, as is experience with visualization tools like Tableau and Power BI. Prior experience in humanitarian contexts is a plus.
