Tech Project Manager

Organizational Context

The World Food Programme (WFP) is the world's largest humanitarian organization, dedicated to saving lives and building a pathway to peace and prosperity. The Private Sector Partnerships (PSP) Division focuses on engaging the private sector to enhance WFP's impact. This role is within the Individual Giving (IG) team, which is rapidly expanding its global fundraising efforts through a multi-channel approach.

Job Purpose

The Tech Project Manager will own and enhance the delivery management system for the Individual Giving (IG) Tech & Product team. This role is crucial for ensuring that projects are effectively prioritized, planned, and executed to meet the ambitious fundraising objectives of the Private Sector Partnerships division. The incumbent will establish clear project governance, manage workload, drive execution discipline, and ensure alignment with internal teams and external vendors. Key responsibilities include managing the intake and prioritization of requests, capacity planning, tracking delivery, managing risks, coordinating vendors, and communicating with stakeholders. The ultimate goal is to ensure predictable, transparent, and sustainable delivery of enhancements that support the IG team's strategic goals and contribute to WFP's mission of achieving zero hunger.

Responsibilities

The World Food Programme (WFP) is seeking a Tech Project Manager for its Private Sector Partnerships division. This role is crucial for managing the delivery system of the Individual Giving (IG) Tech & Product team, ensuring efficient prioritization, planning, and execution of projects aligned with organizational goals. The project manager will own and continuously improve the team's delivery management system, establishing clear project governance, structured prioritization, and workload management. Key responsibilities include managing the intake and triage of requests, capacity planning, delivery tracking, risk management, and coordinating with external vendors. The role also involves stakeholder communication and alignment, ensuring transparency and effective collaboration between the IG Tech & Product team and internal stakeholders. Success will be measured by the predictability, transparency, and sustainability of the team's delivery system, improved prioritization processes, increased visibility on project timelines and risks, and effective vendor management. The ideal candidate is a proactive, organized professional with strong project management discipline, strategic thinking, and stakeholder management skills, capable of driving operational improvements in a fast-paced environment.

Work Experience

Requires a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in project management, technical project management, PMO, delivery management, or related operational coordination. Proven experience managing complex projects in fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environments is essential. Experience with project planning, prioritization, workload coordination, delivery tracking, cross-functional team coordination, and vendor management is necessary. Familiarity with project management tools and Agile/Scrum environments is desirable. Experience in technology, digital transformation, or international organizations is a plus.
