Job Purpose
The Assistant Site Manager will provide essential operational, logistical, and administrative support for daily construction, rehabilitation, and repair activities at WFP's Miragoâne site in Haiti. The incumbent will be responsible for meticulous inventory management, secure material storage, and maintaining site safety and hygiene standards. Responsibilities
The Site Management Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the daily operational, logistical, and administrative aspects of construction, rehabilitation, and repair projects. This position is responsible for the meticulous management of material stocks, ensuring accurate tracking of local labor, and facilitating the flow of essential information to optimize project progress. Key duties include receiving and verifying construction materials against delivery orders, maintaining up-to-date inventory records, and ensuring the secure and compliant storage of all supplies. The assistant also oversees the daily work of site helpers, coordinates material handling and cleaning tasks, and manages the attendance and timekeeping of casual workers and local contractors, preparing necessary documentation for payroll validation. Furthermore, the role involves conducting daily site inspections to ensure adherence to basic safety regulations and maintaining site cleanliness and organization. Regular reporting, including daily updates to the site journal, photographic documentation of work progress, and the filing of administrative documents, is also a core responsibility. The assistant must be adept at identifying and reporting any incidents, accidents, or technical anomalies promptly to the Site Manager.
Work Experience
Requires a minimum of 4 years of practical experience in construction sites, material stock management, or as a field team leader. Experience with an NGO or international humanitarian agency is considered an advantage.
