Job Purpose
The Data Collector (Recolector/a de datos) will be responsible for gathering essential information in the field according to established schedules. This role involves direct communication with community leaders and partners to identify reference points for data collection sites and to resolve any issues encountered. The Data Collector must ensure the timely submission of all collected digital data and address any quality control observations. This position requires students in their third year or beyond in relevant fields such as International Relations, Social Work, Agronomic Engineering, or Anthropology, with proven experience in conducting surveys and using digital data collection tools. The role is crucial for WFP's operational effectiveness and evidence-based decision-making in its humanitarian efforts.
Responsibilities
The World Food Programme (WFP) is seeking to hire 18 enumerators on a daily contract basis from July to December 2026. The primary responsibility of these enumerators will be to collect information in the field according to a set schedule. This involves direct communication with community leaders and partners to identify reference points for site navigation and to resolve any issues that may arise before or during data collection. A key duty is to ensure the timely submission of all digitally collected survey forms at the end of each workday. Enumerators must also be prepared to address any quality control observations made during the process. Candidates should be third-year students or further along in fields such as International Relations, Social Work, Agronomic Engineering, or Anthropology. Essential experience includes a proven track record in conducting surveys and using digital data collection tools, coordinating with various public and private entities, and understanding the social dynamics of both rural and urban populations. Familiarity with WFP's operational areas and key stakeholders, as well as monitoring and evaluation frameworks for social projects, is also required. Proficiency in standard office software and KoboCollect is necessary. The WFP provides the necessary equipment for this role.
Work Experience
The role requires demonstrable experience in conducting surveys and using digital data collection tools. Candidates should also have experience coordinating with various public and private sector entities and NGOs. Knowledge of social dynamics in rural and urban areas, WFP's intervention zones, and monitoring/evaluation frameworks is necessary. Proficiency in standard office software and KoboCollect is also required.
