Job Purpose

Responsibilities
The National Officer, School Feeding Policies and Programs, will play a crucial role in developing and managing school feeding initiatives within Haiti, a country facing severe food insecurity. This position involves contributing to the design of diverse projects and plans aligned with broader WFP program policies. The officer will support the management of significant programs, ensuring coordinated approaches and adherence to WFP standards. Key responsibilities include developing and coordinating data collection and monitoring systems to maintain rigorous quality standards, and researching and analyzing policy and operational issues to inform program development. The role requires contributing to accurate and timely reporting for informed decision-making and stakeholder communication. Effective liaison with internal and external partners is essential for collaboration, project monitoring, and risk identification. The officer will also support the identification and management of potential partnerships to enhance food assistance packages and contribute to capacity building for WFP staff, government, and partners in school feeding. This includes providing technical input for training and guiding junior staff. Furthermore, the role involves active participation in national policy and strategy development, contributing to resource mobilization through proposal development and donor reporting, and supporting budget monitoring. The officer will also act as a deputy to the Head of Unit and cover during their absence, undertaking other necessary activities to ensure the successful implementation and sustainability of school feeding programs in Haiti.
Work Experience
Requires at least 5 years of professional experience in designing and managing food programs and projects. Must have in-depth technical knowledge, experience leading program implementation, and contributing to policy discussions. Proficiency in the national policies, key stakeholders, and operational context of school feeding in Haiti is essential. Experience in capacity building for various stakeholders is also required.
