Job Purpose
The Logistics Officer (Vehicle Repair Workshop) will be responsible for managing vehicle repair workshops and supervising the repair of WFP assets, including light vehicles, trucks, forklifts, and generators, across the country and sub-offices in Haiti. This role involves coordinating repair activities in accordance with WFP's established procedures and management rules. The incumbent will develop and implement best practices and standard operating procedures for efficient workshop management, ensuring maximum asset reliability with minimal interruptions. Key responsibilities include supervising workshop staff, ensuring the availability of spare parts and consumables, maintaining operational radio and GPS systems, and overseeing scheduled maintenance, repairs, and modifications to keep vehicles in excellent condition. The officer will also focus on cost reduction, tire management, maintaining accurate fleet management records, and contributing to the overall efficiency and cost-effectiveness of WFP's vehicle fleet operations.
Responsibilities
The Logistics Officer (Vehicle Repair Workshops) is responsible for overseeing and managing vehicle repair workshops across WFP country and sub-offices. This role involves supervising all repairs for WFP assets, including light vehicles, trucks, forklifts, and generators, ensuring adherence to WFP's established procedures and management rules. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing best practices for efficient workshop operations, monitoring performance through key performance indicators (KPIs), and ensuring the reliability of repairs with minimal interruptions. The officer will manage workshop personnel, ensuring timely reporting and information dissemination. Collaboration with administration and procurement is crucial for guaranteeing the availability of necessary spare parts, lubricants, and consumables, including managing the acquisition process. Additionally, the role requires ensuring the operational status of vehicle communication systems (VHF/HF radio and GPS), upholding health, safety, and environmental standards, and continuously collecting data to improve workshop management standardization. The officer will oversee scheduled maintenance, repairs, and overhauls to keep vehicles in excellent condition, manage tire inventory, and maintain accurate vehicle records using the Fleet Management System. Cost reduction in maintenance activities and profitability analysis of vehicles are also important aspects of this position. Occasional travel may be required.
Work Experience
A minimum of one year of progressive professional experience in managing vehicle repair workshops is required. Additional years of experience are highly desirable.
