Job Purpose
The Senior Driver G3 is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient transportation of WFP personnel, high-ranking officials, and partners. This role involves meticulous vehicle maintenance, daily checks, and accurate record-keeping of mileage, fuel consumption, and service schedules. The incumbent will also perform administrative support tasks, such as delivering official documents and running errands. Adherence to strict UN security regulations and WFP procedures is paramount. The Senior Driver plays a crucial role in facilitating the smooth operations of CERFAM by ensuring timely and secure transport, contributing directly to the organization's mission of saving lives and changing lives.
Responsibilities
The Principal Driver (Chauffeur(se) Principal(e)) at CERFAM is responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable transportation of personnel, including senior officials and partners. This role involves meticulous maintenance and monitoring of assigned vehicles, ensuring their proper functioning and adherence to safety standards. The driver will also perform administrative support tasks, such as delivering mail and official documents, and assist with airport pickups and drop-offs for official visitors. A key aspect of the job is maintaining detailed logs of all vehicle usage, including mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance schedules. The driver must strictly follow UN security protocols and emergency procedures, reporting any incidents immediately. Additionally, they are expected to handle minor repairs, coordinate major ones, and manage fuel records accurately. The position also requires discretion and confidentiality due to the profile of passengers. Administrative support, such as managing toll cards and assisting with filing, may also be required. The role emphasizes integrity, collaboration, and a commitment to WFP's humanitarian values, ensuring efficient and secure transport operations for CERFAM.
Work Experience
The role requires at least three years of experience as a vehicle driver, preferably with an embassy, UN agency, or international organization, demonstrating a strong driving record. Experience with various vehicle types and models, including vans, is necessary. A valid driver's license is mandatory. Additional experience in defensive driving is advantageous. Fluency in French is required, with basic English proficiency being a plus.
