Job Purpose
The OIM & Performance Reports Officer will support all Operational Information Management and Performance Reporting (OIM & PR) activities. This role is crucial for establishing and maintaining a standard, consistent operational picture of WFP's activities and results, enabling informed and timely decision-making across the organization. The officer will provide technical advice, governance, and oversight to ensure adherence to OIM & PR policies and guidance, enhancing the quality and standardization of information management and reporting. Key responsibilities include collating and analyzing data from various sources to provide operational awareness, supporting the preparation of performance reports like the Annual Country Report, and collaborating with internal and external partners to ensure consistency in humanitarian information and analysis. The role also involves capacity building for WFP staff and partners on OIM & PR, and contributing to improvements in corporate performance reporting and normative guidance.
Responsibilities
The OIM & Performance Reports Officer at WFP plays a crucial role in managing operational information and performance reporting to support informed decision-making across the organization. Key responsibilities include ensuring adherence to standard OIM & PR procedures and templates, thereby enhancing the quality, consistency, and standardization of information management. The officer provides technical guidance and oversight to various WFP units on integrating OIM & PR policies into established systems. This involves collating and analyzing data from diverse sources, including media and internal/external reports, to maintain operational awareness and understand potential humanitarian impacts. The role also entails disseminating political and humanitarian analysis relevant to WFP's responses and donor policies, contributing country-specific insights to operational reporting. Furthermore, the officer is responsible for collecting and communicating essential information about the operational environment, human, financial, and physical assets. They collaborate with internal teams and other UN agencies to ensure coherence in humanitarian information and support the preparation of key reports like the Annual Country Report. Capacity building of WFP staff and partners through training is also a significant aspect of the role, as is contributing to improvements in corporate performance reporting and the development of normative guidance. The officer may also supervise junior staff and provide support during emergencies by assisting with Operational Task Forces.
Work Experience
Requires at least three years of postgraduate professional experience in a relevant field. A background and demonstrated interest in international humanitarian development are also necessary.
