Job Purpose
The Risk & Compliance Associate will support the implementation of risk management activities within WFP operations. Responsibilities
The Risk Management Associate will support the implementation of risk management activities, contributing to the application of controls and adherence to policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and resource optimization. This role involves supporting the internal control system, promoting compliance tools, and identifying training needs to improve understanding of WFP's risk management policies. The associate will assist in preparing data for external stakeholders, including UN systems, donors, and partners, and will contribute to the prompt reporting of fraud, corruption, or compliance issues. Responsibilities also include monitoring internal activities, developing tools to strengthen compliance practices, and raising awareness about fraud and misconduct prevention. The position requires a secondary school diploma, ideally with a university degree in a relevant field, and at least six years of progressive experience in risk management, including internal control assessment and mitigation recommendations. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, program/project management experience, and participation in monitoring and reporting are essential. Fluency in French is required, with practical knowledge of English being desirable.
Work Experience
Requires at least six years of progressive experience in risk management, including internal control assessment and developing mitigation recommendations, ideally within a modern enterprise risk management system. Proven ability to analyze, evaluate, and solve problems with ingenuity, initiative, judgment, tact, and diplomacy. Demonstrated experience in program or project management. Involvement in monitoring, reporting, and analyzing results, with a strong understanding of performance indicators. Participation in risk analysis and the development or implementation of mitigation strategies. Inter-unit collaboration on impact, planning, and scheduling matters.
