Job Purpose
The Security/Access Associate G6 in Gonaives, Haiti, will support the Country Office in implementing access and security strategies. Responsibilities
The Security and Access Assistant, based in Gonaives, Haiti, plays a crucial role in supporting the country office's implementation of access and security strategies. This position requires an individual who can autonomously handle daily challenges, demonstrating initiative and sound judgment. The assistant is responsible for implementing and evaluating security measures, maintaining equipment, and providing recommendations to ensure the safety of personnel, facilities, and operations. On the access front, the role involves ensuring a coordinated and consistent approach to humanitarian access, enabling the World Food Programme (WFP) to deliver its programs effectively and maximize assistance to vulnerable populations in Haiti under acceptable security conditions. This includes supervising the analysis of the current humanitarian situation to anticipate and address potential impacts on WFP operations. The assistant will also support WFP's engagement with humanitarian and non-humanitarian actors and other stakeholders in Gonaives. Key responsibilities include operational support for field missions, analyzing security assessment reports, implementing risk management measures, and ensuring strict adherence to access control procedures. The role also involves contributing to contingency planning, conducting security training, managing security equipment, and supervising staff.
